Howard is an ARIAS-US certified arbitrator. 

Despite spending his career as a reinsurer Howard has acted as a party-appointed arbitrator for both cedents and reinsurers. 

Whilst Howard's arbitration practice involves legacy asbestos and pollution claims it has also included matters relating to COVID-19, Winter Storms, and other more technical disputes over the application of reinsurance language.   

As an alternative to formal dispute, mediation can provide huge benefits to parties who disagree. It provides the opportunity to see whether a commercial resolution can be reached but also it allows both parties to test the strengths and weaknesses of their arguments in front of an experienced arbitrator.
