Howard has spent more than 30 years handling reinsurance claims in the US and UK legacy markets. 

During his career he has managed reinsurance portfolios stretching from the 1950s through to the early 2000s, totaling many billions of dollars in liabilities and involving reinsurance programs for almost every significant US insurance company. 

Howard has extensive experience in analyzing, valuing, and managing legacy books and in developing and implementing strategies to run-off and crystallize a variety of different types of reinsurance portfolio.

Howard also has extensive experience dealing with complex reinsurance claims and disputes including analyzing and researching wordings and their historical context, valuing, and negotiating seven-figure claims and commutations and managing arbitration and litigation in the US, the UK, and Continental Europe. 

Howard is widely known in the US reinsurance community and has spoken at several industry events on a number of topics.
